You have some very good observations there. I was having a very similar conversation with a friend on Friday. I think that serverless does require a different organisational setup from a microservices approach and this is where many come unstuck. I think it’s a requirement for a team to have end to end responsibly for a business need in a serverless application so separating out responsibilities too much may actually be a hindrance. It may actually be a separation from a number of principles that we think are fixed but I’m not sure yet. Still pondering all of it. But you’re asking good questions and identifying the right areas for improvement. The tooling at present is limited and incomplete, that is for sure.
